Aaron Manning threw for more than 300 yards gaining three touchdowns and he ran for 100 more leading Atlantic High School to a 49-14 win over Deltona in Port Orange on Oct. 4.
Torrey Gaines also had more than 150 receiving yards and caught all three touchdown passes from Manning for the Sharks.
"It's all about preparation and execution which we were able to do tonight," said Manning.
Gaines, "Just like Aaron said, we did a good job preparing and was able to execute."
Atlantic (5-1) broke the game open in the second quarter scoring 21 points en route to a 28-7 halftime lead.
"We knew going into the year that the deep ball would determine if, we were a playoff-caliber team. We took what the defense gave us. Aaron is a baller and Torrey is a heck of a player. We also had a lot of guys step up with some key players out with injuries," said Atlantic Head Coach, DJ Mayo. Deltona (0-6) kept the game close early, as the score was tied at 7 after the first quarter.
"We're trying. We played hard. They played a good game against us. We keep fighting. We're humbled. We got a young team and some injured players," said Allen Johnson, Deltona Head Coach.
Denzel Chatman (119 passing yards) connected Eli Patton (95 receiving yards) on two passing touchdowns for the Wolves.
Atlantic plays at Melbourne Eau Gallie and Deltona plays at Pine Ridge on Oct. 11.
