DEEP FOCUS NEWS
As the holiday season approaches there are those out there doing their part to help spread holiday joy and cheer to those in need.
For years Oliver Ross and his team at the Crab Stop II located at 933 West International Speedway Blvd. has done giveaways during the holidays.
They have given out turkeys and hams during Thanksgiving and bikes during Christmas.
Since Thanksgiving last year, Ross and his staff have paid for groceries and gifts for shoppers at local retail and grocery stores; mainly Wal-Mart.
“We’re doing it a little differently. We are randomly selecting people while out at stores who are shopping. There is no sign up and we really haven’t publicized it,” responded Oliver Ross, Owner Crab Stop II.
“We are going off a feeling. Everyone’s doing bikes and turkeys. The pandemic is still going on and it has hit people’s money in so many ways.”
Ross believes it's detrimental to help those in need.
He expressed, “I was taught as a kid to help someone whenever you can. So, I do it. It's not just me, it's our Crab Stop family. We give our employees extra money to help people.”
