Daytona Beach was the first city in Volusia County to declare a state of emergency, the first to offer residents financial assistance (building permit fees waived, water bills waived in April), first city to pull permits from special events (Bike Week), first city to implement a mask mandate, and first city to host a public testing site; it is fitting we once again take the lead in hosting a public vaccine site in support of our community’s health.
