
The event was held for two days on June 6-7at Derbyshire Sports Complex where former professional players along with local prep and youth coaches gave instruction to boys and girls ages 6-20.
The BMFC is a creation of former NFL Player and Daytona resident Bruce McNorton. McNorton who works as a scout for the Pittsburgh Steelers created the camp back when he was playing.
McNorton spent 10 years in the NFL as a player including nine with the Detroit Lions and one with the Miami Dolphins.
He has done the camp for 19 years including 14 in Daytona and five in Detroit.
"This is my way of giving back. I enjoy it and to have everyone come out and help is great," said McNorton.
Former NFL players who assisted included: Calvin 'Megatron' Johnson, Ernie Mills, John L. Williams, Kelvin Fisher, James Harrell, James Jones and more.
Most played in the 80's and 90's like McNorton but Johnson retired after 2015 season.
"I do a few of these a year. It's always great to come and help these kids. That is what it is about. the positives. When you get a chance to give back, go ahead and do so," said Johnson.
Motivational Speaker Johnny Vickers addressed the audience at clinic NCAA Eligibility seminar which informed high school kids and their parents on what they need to know to be eligible for a collegiate scholarship.
The seminar took place on June 5 at the Yvonne Scarlett-Golden Cultural & Educational Center.
