On Wednesday, the Florida Department of Health reported 1,384 new coronavirus cases, including two in Volusia County and one in Flagler County bringing the number of coronavirus cases in Florida to 15,698. Of those, 15,234 are residents and 464 are non-residents.

The Florida Department of Health also reported that 42% of the 60,362 hospital beds across the state are empty, according to data by the The Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). In addition, nearly 39% of the 6,141 ICU beds statewide are empty. In Volusia County, 763 of the 1,514 hospital beds are available and 89 of the 227 ICU beds are available, according to AHCA data.
